The UFC's recent strategy of counter-programming its competitors will continue, as Spike TV today announced some of UFC 100's "most exciting bouts" will air during Showtime's Saturday night broadcast of "Carano vs. Cyborg." mmajunkie.com

Is Chuck Liddell really retired? "I don't want him to (fight)," White said after this past weekend's UFC 101 event. "He wants to, so we'll see what happens." mmajunkie.com

"I like staying busy," said Taylor, who said he still drinks occasionally but in a responsible manner. "It keeps me out of trouble. It just keeps me more focused and more grounded. ... When I have too much downtime, especially someone like me, I seemed to get distracted. Especially on 'The Ultimate Fighter' show, during the actual show, I fought four times in six weeks and did pretty well ... and stayed out of trouble (until the end)." mmajunkie.com

"I made the decision not to do the blogs anymore. I am the one that took them down," White said. "They were fun while they lasted, and thanks to everyone for the support." fiveknuckles.com

Reports have the two organizations working on a show entitled "Outside the Octagon". The show is said to take fans behind the scenes of the UFC and the belief is that there would be too much crossover between White's blogs and the show. The fact that White has formally canceled his blogs is a clear indication that talks with HBO regarding the show are close to bearing fruit. fiveknuckles.com

UFC Referee Dan Miragliotta defends his questionable stoppage at last Saturday's UFC 101 in Philadelphia. Miragliotta stepped in between a downed Sadollah and Johny Hendricks to the ire of many fans and MMA pundits who feel the call was unjustified. fiveknuckles.com

"When I stopped the fight and got between Sadollah and Hendricks, Sadollah still looked glassy eyed and asked me what happened. I feel that he was still a little out of it while standing there talking to me." fiveknuckles.com

Fast rising featherweight prospect Jose Aldo tells Tatame.com via Bloody Elbow that he's not surprised by the lost of Miguel Torres. Torres, widely considered among the world's top pound-for-pound fighters, was upset by the heavy-handed undefeated Brian Bowles this past Sunday at WEC 42. fiveknuckles.com

"This defeat was no surprise. Miguel is very good, but Bowles has very heavy hands. The guy had already beat Louro [Marcos Galvao] and Will Ribeiro, so I knew he could beat Torres. Still, it would be interesting to fight with [Bowles], especially because he's beaten those Brazilian fighters. It doesn't cross my mind to go down in weight, but for this fight, I would go down." fiveknuckles.com

“I don’t have to be there for the sport to be successful,” Carano said. “I’m doing the best with this opportunity to represent the sport. I’m doing everything I can do. But the sport is awesome. It’ll make it by itself. They don’t need me for it to be successful. I’m being given the chance right now for a period of time and there will be another person with the chance next.” Yahoo! Sports

“Mark knows it’s coming. I know it’s coming, so it’s just the factor of me letting (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva know that I’m ready to compete,” Ortiz told host Bruce Buffer on the Sherdog Radio Network’s “It’s Time” show Tuesday. “I have about a week-and-a-half to two weeks before I can start wrestling, and once I start wrestling at 100 percent –- right now I’m just drilling –- but once I’m at 100 percent, I’ll let them know. Hopefully, November 21 will be the date.” Sherdog.com

FiveOuncesOfPain.com: At one point or another in your life you have defeated Jon Fitch, Diego Sanchez, Hyato Sakurai, Yushin Okami, Carlos Condit, and Robbie Lawler to name a few. Who do you consider the biggest win of your career, and what names want to add to this list? fiveouncesofpain.com

Jake Shields: That’s pretty hard because each of those fights were big. A lot of those guys I fought outside of a cage so it’s hard to compare. If I had to say one it would be Hyato Sakurai. That was my first big win in Japan. I think that was the one fight that made me say I can be good at this. In regards to who I want to add to the list, I am willing to fight anyone. I believe in the old to be the best you have fight the best so definitely Georges St. Pierre. Oh, and Frank Shamrock because he’s been a dick to me for too long, and I am tired of his shit. I keep challenging and demanding to fight him, but he always has some pussy excuse not to fight me. It was a pretty good feeling when Nick destroyed him. I definitely want to add him to the list. fiveouncesofpain.com

On whether Strikeforce should continue promoting Nick Diaz:
Sadly, it's a big problem because somebody's out a lot of money -- Strikeforce/Showtime -- and you know, that wasn't fair from a professional standpoint. But you know, I'm not matching the fights, and unfortunately, Diaz has a strong name right now, and he has a lot of value to somebody. I mean, UFC has expressed value. We all like Nick, he's just a knucklehead. And hopefully, he'll come into his own because he's coming into his own as a fighter, but his maturity, I think, is 10 years behind that. mma.fanhouse.com

“Judges need to open their eyes and see who is really controlling the fight,” stated Curran on Tuesday. “Something needs to change because this is happening with poor judging all over the sport. mmaweekly.com

“Until then, I will be training harder than ever and I will not stop. I want a rematch with Mizugaki." mmaweekly.com
