Starting Friday, the Jets outside linebacker began serving a four-game suspension, handed down before training camp for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing supplements. Instead of passing the time in New Jersey or at his home in Atlanta, Pace will spend the next two weeks working out with Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) guru Randy Couture. (NY Daily News)

"The reason why I'm doing MMA is it's probably the closest thing you can find to football as far as conditioning, cardiovascular and the physical aspect," Pace said after the Jets' 38-27 win over the Eagles Thursday night in their final preseason game. "I'm not going to be fighting and I'm not going to be getting hit. I'm just going to be training my behind off." (NY Daily News)

"I would be more than willing to give him a rematch. I would be happily and readily available to give him a rematch if he gets through Ben Henderson. Even if he doesn't get through Ben Henderson, he can come to my gym if we have a problem. We've got a cage there too. It doesn't matter to me." (MMA Weekly)

Everybody has been saying I was cut from the UFC for that fight but it wasn’t the cause. The thing is they (UFC) hired many fighters from Affliction at once and couldn’t maintain all of them. Then the guys who fought on the undercard and were defeated were fired. I hope to be back in a near future to put on good shows”. (Fighters Only)

Assuming this is true, I think people are overreacting to the news. Filming apparently ends in late November, the delay probably won't be that long. Rampage and Rashad could fight as soon as the Superbowl show, or in March at the latest. In exchange for a 2-3 month delay, the UFC, Rampage, and Rashad will all benefit from the press that will come with this role. The "A-Team" will be a big budget feature with other huge industry names, and both Rampage and the UFC will get a large amount of media attention. (Bloody Elbow)
