UFC president Dana White confirmed the news to Yahoo! Sports. White said Lesnar has been ill for more than three-and-a-half weeks and unable to train. With the bout at UFC 106 less than a month away, Lesnar was forced to postpone the title defense. (Yahoo! Sports)

With this afternoon's shocking news that illness had forced UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar out of his UFC 106 headlining contest with top contender Shane Carwin, the UFC was announced that a rematch between light heavyweights Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz will now take top billing at the event. Josh Barnett was granted a second extension Monday for an appeals hearing the fighter had requested after the California State Athletic Commission denied his re-licensure in late July due to a positive pre-test for an anabolic steroid. The new hearing will be held on Dec. 8. (Sherdog)
